Poppy King, the founder of Lipstick Queen and staunch red lipstick advocate, has introduced this sheer, fire-engine red glossy gloss that gives gals a hint of color without committing to a full-on matte red lip. And, 100 percent of profits from online sales of the $14 gloss go to "Count Me In," a non-profit provider of resources for women entrepreneurs. Available last summer, it's being re-introduced in February at Barneys, Bendel and at Lipstickqueen.com. If you're inclined to exchange Valentine's Day gifties, this beats the hell out of a sad box of chocolates or heart-clutching teddy bear. 

Urban Decay 'Alice in Wonderland' Book of Shadows

Yet another limited-edition UD palette with the brand's signature pop-up design that's sure to inspire eyeshadow junkies to bid astronomical amounts of money on on eBay. This one — a collabo with Disney to promote Tim Burton's upcoming take on the classic tale — includes 16 best-selling (and temporarily renamed) shadows ("Curiouser," "Mad Hatter," "White Rabbit," etc.), a primer potion and two eye pencils. It's apparently very nearly sold out, but check it here.  

Benefit Bathina 'Take A Picture, It Lasts Longer'

Love love love any product that promises to make me "glow" or make me "luminous," despite the fact that I always forget to use them and often resemble a pasty shut-in, especially in the winter. Howevvva, this silky body balm — an update on Benefit's cult fave "Body So Fine," is light and shiny and I'd totes use it if I were inclined to look, well, light and shiny.  Side note: It's won't be available until April, ya'll.  

Grow Your Own Drugs

Despite its colorful cover with a smattering of trippy butterflies and flowers, I'm sorry to report that the "drugs" this book highlights are strictly of the legal variety. In fact, they're not really drugs but natural remedies and beauty fixes, so the title might a bit of an attention-grabbing ploy (kinda like those birthday cards whose cover says "BEER!" or "SEX!" and the inside says "now that I've got your attention ... happy birthday!"). Inside, there are DIY remedies for scores of common ailments (heartburn, bug bites, eczema) although some struck me as nonsensical. An example? An alleged "memory booster," which involves fresh rosemary and a bottle of wine. Now, maybe I'm being cynical, but if wine really boosted one's memory, I imagine the age-old question of "what the fuck happened last night?!?" would have been all but eradicated. In like, 4000 BC.  Cook your own stuff. 

Jo Malone Vitamin E Body Balm

Bloggers and beauty junkies really seem to be dying over the Feb. 1 release of this body balm, which is apparently the newest addition to Jo Malone's cult-y vitamin e line of products. While I don't typically get all that excited over lotions and what have you, I'll admit this particular highly-concentrated cream was a pleasant surprise. It's being billed as a cold weather savior of sorts, with its many antioxidants and ingredients (shea butter, cocoa butter, wheat protein) helping to fortify skin and keep it hydrated throughout the winter. Scent-wise, it's rich and slightly vanilla-y without being cloying. A small (or, at $75, not-so-small) winter luxury. This hits shelves Feb. 1 at Jo Malone stores and site, as well as finer department stores.
